i.) being green, clean, lean
i'll post a picture later. but i want to help girls and guys too i guess like me, who are poor college students, lose and keep off weight with a more "hectic" lifestyle... to be polite... and also stay fit and green! i want to stay as organic as possible, and this will transition being green into my home even more, and my beauty products hopefully soon.
currently, i'm 5"4', 32C-26.5-36 (not sure about hip). my metabolic age and visceral fat is low blah blah blah but i want to get toned and lean.
i swear by yoga. i can't go into it here or i won't stop, but it's taken over my life and completely reformed me. lean baby!
and for strength and fat burning, kickbox and dance! it's so much easier to work out in a group/partners or doing something you love while sweating away 600 calories an hour and feeling fucking high afterwords then running and barely even helping your body on a treadmill or spin class.
i also have the self control of jesus, the willpower of mary. if you don't have it, don't even bother dieting until you do. you will fucking fail. you need to have willpower, or you won't exercise and binge and plummet. i did until i grew up and went after what i wanted. you can only starve yourself, purge, take diet pills for so long until you grow up and do it the right way: working out, eating less, eating clean, eating right. keeping your mind in check.
why i'm posting a picture later? i have a first gen iphone. no flash, no focus, 2 mp camera (1st world shocker: it's blurry. i sound spoiled, i hate it .dgaf) no photo messaging. just email (insert ironic sigh. but not ironic. you caught me. i hate it, it has the IQ of a pea).
i don't spend my money on food. i would rather spend it on clothing or purses or bills (troofax), but eating clean is kind of expensive, so make trader joe's your second home. who doesn't like going there anyways? just always check labels! i also buy some things at sprouts (i'll have a sprouts guide later, but it's expensive). i always shop at different stores.
- my fitness pal, great informative app! GET IT! use it! it's free, simple, so helpful.
NO JUNK FOOD
NO JUNK FOOD
NO JUNK FOODNO JUNK FOOD
NO JUNK FOOD
NO JUNK FOODNO JUNK FOODNO JUNK FOODNO JUNK FOOD
self fucking control! don't. eat. bad. food. EVER. exceptions are things in which they are "healthy" or organic versions of, with good ingredients, and at least slightly healthy. (dessert: macarons. homemade smoothies. etc).
NO JUNK FOOD
ever.
repeat after me:
it is UN FUCKING FORGIVABLE TO EAT:
- anything fried
- anything over 600 calories. EVER. in one siting.
- more than 1000 calories a day.
- soda
- anything with more than 20+ grams of sugar, more than 14% of your daily sodium, fat, carbs. i eat a lot of fruit, so sugar is where i struggle the most in my diet. and as for low percentages? AIM for that. it's unrealistic kind of, but diets are for cutting back!
- candy. donuts. ever. cheescake. ever. most cake in general. cookies. (some desserts are healthy. most not. eat healthy desserts. if you must) gelato. NOTHING SWEET AND JUNKY EVER.
- anything just unhealthy. i'll add more to this later.
last but not least, know the basics. know that quinoa > brown rice (if you don't know what quinoa is.... leave.). know the different types of protein. you should be green or some sort, eat organically etc and work out. or at least try - this should be a diet program boost! you should be eating well and working out already. you shouldn't be a novice, definitely not shoobienewbie material, you should be intermediate in dieting, green living, etc. as a young person, not some advanced yoga-yogi. or maybe you are, good for you for real! i was floored when i saw a 70 year old adorable asian man in yoga class one day do a headstand. i was inspired. i was like, where the fuck did that come from?!
but you don't have to be into yoga or kickboxing or dancing or green livin' yeehaw, maybe i'll help you out either way.
ii.) my beauty and wellness regime
this may include quotes i would consider to be homosexual, please tolerate them because they will probably be late at night. sometimes the grammar is off (like always), or lyrics, or high ramblings (sting rays are the swiffer pads of the sea maybe?) but i will keep them motivational, or at the least ~deep~.
i am not in the financial position to clean out my whole makeup bag and shower and shelves and replace it with organic products. but i'm trying - i'll have DIY recipes for useful shit (not all masks and foot scrubs, we're talking recipes that fucking work, dry shampoo, etc). i'll be trying the no poo method for girls with versatile, nice wavy hair that's colored. which means light damage, but it's hard to find tips for that. i also have combo skin, so yay i'll appeal to all of you fuckers in the skincare department! they'll all be green, or i'll post my latest "good find" (such horrible cliche phrases) or idfk.
this may go into apps, technology, restaurants or stores, anything i find to fit into a more miscellaneous category.
iii.) recipes---
although this is essentially what i live off of (keep in mind the word willpower)
- protein/nutrition bars of said brands: think thin, clif, luna, balance, fitmax, apex (always aim for: low in sugar, calories, carbs - aim for gluten free or high protein if you can!) i'm sure i'm missing some. but remember granola has lots of calories, same with a lot of protein and peanut butter. fruit carries sugar! don't take your fruit in the dried protein bar variety.
- nuts! eat these every day (dr oz approved i swear it)... but not "low tier nuts" (scoff, as if there is such a thing...) such as macadamia nuts, chocolate covered nuts (a rare splurge, few and dark chocolate only), peanuts, anything salted or with oil. always aim for raw, unsalted, etc etc. although 75% of the time, i'm eating emerald's 100 calorie almonds. they're not bad, and flavored (yes) though good and not high in sugar. trail mix is okay, if you must go with trader joe's trek mix or look for archer farms variety. always stay away from candy or sugars, salts, etc etc...
- splurges: i always try and stay healthy with splurges. even if i am reaching for a cupcake, it's an organic cupcake dammit. but that is beyond rare (macarons (not -oons) are totally acceptable from time to time - skip the nutella though please!) and i usually jump for coffee...
....i'm a starbucks girls, southern california. not kean, not peet's, not norcal/vegas coffee bean shit. i don't order tea here. if you order it, make it hot (cheaper, grande is 60 cals, more coffee, works your metabolism bitches) and get it nonfat milk, no whip, sugar free syrup or sweeteners always ("light" or whatever they say). no exceptions. caffe misto (cheap, half steamed [nonfat] milk, and coffee) with a pump of sugar free mocha and a pump of sugar free hazelnut is filled with articifical sugar (i know ugh, hence "Splurge" but 0 cals), but tastes like nutella. or a 90 calorie light cinnamon dolce latte. those two are my favorite, there's so many choices look it up yourself and find what works for you. just keep it tall, hot, sugar free, nonfat milk! coffee is a diuretic too!
...or frozen yogurt. always reach for original tart (it tastes amazing with fruit - i promise. or at least sugar free, as close to fat free as possible. look for fruitier flavors) and keep it small! they make those portions to make money. add fruit. only. remember, berries are best....
occasional healthy toppings: carob/yogurt/peanut butter chips, granola, nuts, some cereals, are okay. just stay away from sprinkles, liquid toppings, candy, anything purely sugar or just bad for you. duh. okay sorry this is turning into a froyo guide (which i would gladly make in the future)
-trader joe's stir fry vegetables... two cups of this (90 calories, generous and so so good) with 3/4 of a teaspoon of their coconut oil, (sometimes those emerald nuts thrown in) and super low cal healthy fucking good dinner. i live off this shit. actually, trader joes will become your best friend. (did i mention i'm poor?)
-herbalife makes amazing nutritional shakes and teas that are low (some negative (!!!)) in calories and just fucking good. i don't have money to get these often, but their my shake of choice!
-stay fucking hydrated for goodness sakes. drink tea, coffee (healthy coffe fucking obviously, not frappacinos and things), protein shakes when working out/nutritional meal replacement shakes), no soda. in fact, if you drink soda, just stop reading and fucking leave if you will continue it. what more proof do you need that soda is fucking horrible for you?
i'll be posting reviews, recipes, etc, don't you worry.
and oh yeah, i'm a pescatarian, but i don't cook fish at home, unless it's shrimp. sorry i'm not sorry!
also, tips for restaurants, chains or not, what to order and what to avoid.
iv.) unhealthiness
diet pills, oh yes, when i first tried phentermine and dropped 20 lbs in 30 days doing nothing, i almost shit myself. it became a 7 month battle paying probably $800 in diet pills just of perscription only phentermine. i remember the overdoses, getting sick, how much it destroyed my immune system and my body. i'm still paying the price. i've gone down in effect, almost in my mind "weaning myself off" more effective diet pills, down from hydroxycut and dexatrim, more and more brands, now on slimquick, then after bob harper's veggie capsules and hopefully then off for good. working on it.
in the meantime, slimquick has been my bitch. this works better than my phentermine did in its last few months, and it's safer than most options. doesn't affect me negatively yet.
tanning... i lay out without sunscreen in the summer but treat my skin like a fucking queen in the winter. give me a break
ohhhh, the drink. i love drinking. i'm trying to quit beer but i just have to work it off, or throw it up. keep it light! for vodka, do voli, svedka, grey goose, skinny bitch. nothing else. mix it with arizona or fuze or healthy juice. wanna splurge? redbull. svedka with arizona fruit punch? delicious. bacardi dragon berry with *healthy* cranberry juice? delicious too. and grey goose came out with cherry, yum. stay away from dark lickkkas
v.) overall diet plan
-NO FUCKING JUNK FOOD.
- KNOW THE BASICS
- your diet should be simple, clean, green, blah blah you get it. this can be on the cheap (trader joe's will become your best friend)
- get protein if you're working out. know your protein and how you're getting it.
- stay healthy! meditate, work out, keep stress low, take multis. make time for yourself.
- keep splurges healthy! whenever eating out, know the nutrition of what you're eating.
- fucking willpower, i cannot stress this enough. self control is key. you can't have a diet without self control.
- your mind is the first to change and adjust in a diet. your body will follow.
-WATER!
- eat sparse and cleanly. small meals, always drink 16 oz of water everytime you eat. this is ridiculously helpful i promise - a meal to me is a luna bar. sometimes it's so filling with the water i come back to it. if you start eating no junk food, your body doesn't want it. like i said, it will adjust.
- use my fitness pal. or some app. or a body bug or whatever.
- always look at nutrition labels!
- find what works for you!
remember:
4 weeks to see results in yourself, 8 weeks for friends and family, 12 weeks for everyone else!
or so i've heard, i have no fucking idea.
